Since the heartbreaking day we lost my granddaughter, my son and his wife have been helped by a remarkable charity

After Shaun’s granddaughter Lottie Jane sadly passed away at only a day old, he decided to fundraise for Tommy’s to help others in his families’ situation.

Shaun's son Tom and daughter-in-law Katie were delighted when they found out they were pregnant with a baby girl. However, after a traumatic birth and multiple unexpected complications, baby Lottie Jane sadly passed away. She was less than a day old. The family were heartbroken and unsure where to look for help or advice.

Shaun shared that during this difficult time, the family turned to Tommy's for support. "Since that heartbreaking day, Tom and Katie have been helped by a remarkable charity. We've found out that baby loss turns out to be far more widespread than you would have previously imagined."

To help other families going through the heartbreak of baby loss, Shaun decided to join Team Tommy's at the 2023 London Landmarks Half Marathon (LLHM). He became our top fundraiser, raising over £6,000.

"I have somewhat foolishly agreed to run, hobble, walk, or crawl 21km for Team Tommy's in memory of my granddaughter Lottie."

We're so thankful to Shaun for sharing his story, and for his incredible fundraising efforts. The money he raised will go towards our vital research so we can help more families like his.
