Help and support from Tommy's

We’re here to support you through every stage of your pregnancy, from conception to after the birth of your baby, no matter what your experiences have been.

We are here to support you when you need it. We have a team of 7 in-house midwives who provide our information and support service for people during pregnancy and if they need support after a loss.

Support before and during pregnancy

All our patient information is accredited by the Patient Information Forum. It is evidence-based and expert and designed to be easy to read for everyone.

We cover the whole journey, including:

The Tommy's Midwives' Helpline

The Tommy's Midwives' Helpline is a free-phone line open 9-5, Monday to Friday for anyone who needs advice, reassurance or support on any pregnancy or planning for pregnancy issue, including mental health.

The number is 0800 0147 800.

The midwives will also answer your questions by email on [email protected]

It is a non-urgent line, offering general support and advice. We will not be able to make local referrals for you.

If you have bleeding, pain or your baby's movements have changed, get in touch with your midwife or hospital straightaway. Read about other symptoms to look out for here.

Looking for support with pregnancy loss?

The Tommy's midwives are specialists who can support you with any aspect of pregnancy loss that would be helpful for you.

Call 0800 0147 800 or email [email protected]

You can visit our Baby loss Facebook support group or our Pregnancy and parenting after loss Facebook support group to connect with others who have been through loss. Most people who have used these groups for peer support have said that they find them helpful.

Black and Mixed Black Helpline

We have a special helpline reserved for Black and Mixed Black women and birthing people. This is because this group has a higher risk of having pregnancy problems than other ethnicities.

The line is also staffed by midwives and if you are of Black or Mixed Black heritage they are there to support on any pregnancy-related issue, including loss.

You can book your call with our Black and Mixed Black Helpline here.
