Race to the Stones 2024

This incredible 100km or 50km route follows the oldest path in Britain? The Ridgeway has endured 5,000 years. Find out for yourself what draws 3,000 people from around the world each year to follow in the footsteps of Romans, Vikings and mythical warriors in their quest to reach the ancient stone circle at Avebury. 

The event

An unforgettable route running towards the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Avebury stone circle. A fantastic mix of woodland, riverside and ridge trails without the need for technical skill. With a 90% completion rate, extended cut-off times and medical support at every stage.

There's 4 options for your challenge. 

  • The full 100km all in 1 go with no overnight stop
  • The full 100km with an overnight camping option
  • 50km route taking from the start line to Wantage
  • 50km route taking from Wantage to the finish line in Avebury
How to register

Tommy's has a set number of places in Race to the Stones. 

To register for one of our places click on the button and complete the form. You'll be asked to pay a registration fee of £70 for the 100km or £40 for the 50km challenge.

Then you'll set up a fundraising page for Tommy's and asked to raise a minimum of £500 for the 100km and £300 for the 50km challenge.

Non-stop 

The original challenge: complete the full 100km route to Avebury stone circle in one go.

Make a weekend of it and cover the 100km over 2 days with an overnight camp, dinner and breakfast at the all-inclusive base camp.

Complete 50km from basecamp to the finish line in Avesbury.
