The Tommy’s management will agree with the Co-Chairs of the SAG to initiate a search for new SAG members. This may be to fill a vacancy/vacancies or to recruit different skills to the group.

Nominations for new members of the SAG will be sought from the Co-Chairs, existing members of the SAG, Management, and other external experts.

Once a list has been gathered from a variety of sources, the Co-Chairs and Tommy’s Management will meet to agree a shortlist based on the following criteria recommended by the AMRC:

“a fair balance of experience, scientific disciplines, institutions, age, gender, ethnicity and geographical location”

Tommy’s management or the Co-Chair will approach each shortlisted person and invite them to join the SAG.

They will be inducted into their responsibilities, which includes peer reviewing Tommy’s Research Centres each year, and they may be asked to join a panel to select a new research centre from time to time.
