As your baby’s parent, you are not classed as a visitor to the baby unit. You are partners in care alongside the healthcare professionals looking after your baby.
Your baby needs you more than anyone or anything else and you are welcome to come and go from the unit at any time of the day or night.
How long you will spend in the hospital will depend on when your baby was born and what their medical needs are.
Don't be afraid to ask the healthcare team any questions you have about what you and your baby are going through. Be involved with as much, or as little, as you feel comfortable with.
