It’s important to have a good relationship with your midwife because you should feel able to talk to them about any issues or concerns you have during your pregnancy. You can always ask if you can change midwives if you feel something isn’t right. This is your pregnancy and it’s important that you feel you’re getting the right care for you and your baby.
At the hospital you can ask to speak to the midwife in charge of the ward that day, ward matron, consultant midwife, the professional midwifery advocate or the head of midwifery.
If you are not happy with your community midwife, you can contact the community midwifery manager, who can be contacted through the hospital switchboard or the Head of Midwifery.
