Pregnancy news, 10/02/2017
Both Beyonce and super model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley have recently revealed their pregnancies with striking Instagram posts.
While Beyonce posed in a veil and her underwear, Rosie's pregnancy snap shows her on the beach in her bikini. Both women look beautiful and it’s great to see celebrities proudly celebrating their bumps.
But we realise that this style of pregnancy announcement might not be for everyone.
Our midwife Kate explains
'You might choose to spread your baby news on social media or to make it known more quietly to a small group of friends. There are loads of ways to announce that you’re expecting and no one way is more valid than the next. However you choose to let people know, the most important thing is that you feel comfortable - it’s your baby that you’re celebrating after all.'
Mums should also remember that there's no such thing as a 'normal' baby bump, they come in all different shapes and sizes. Everyone's bump is beautiful and deserves to be celebrated.
So whether you choose to follow in Rosie and B's footsteps or decide on something more private, the most important thing is to do whatever feels right for you!
Congratulations! Whether you’re jumping up and down for joy, still in a state of shock, or feeling a mixture of both - we’re here to support you every step of the way so you can enjoy a healthy and happy pregnancy.
