Emma Willis: Delivering Babies starts tonight

Tonight is the premiere of Emma Willis’ new documentary ‘Emma Willis: Delivering Babies’, which follows her for 12 weeks as she trains to become a maternity care assistant.

The documentary will see the presenter tackle 4 shifts a week at Princess Alexandra Hospital in Essex. She will be cleaning beds, supporting mums and their families during birth (under midwife supervision), and making mums that all-important post-birth cup of tea, among many other duties.

What to expect

The new show sounds like it will explore a wide range of births and the responsibilities of midwives and maternity teams. In the first episode, Emma skips the ward to visit a home birth, supports a mum through an induction and attends the birth of a baby born prematurely at 32 weeks.

“It was the most hands-on that I could really be in any of the deliveries that I’ve been in. So that was a pretty remarkable experience and one I’ll absolutely never forget.”

Later in the series, the model and mum of 3 will be seen assisting women during c-sections, water births and on the labour ward.
