Food cravings are talked about a lot in relation to pregnancy but, like Khloé, some women also report having aversions to certain food and drink. The reality TV star recently revealed on her app that she hasn’t been able to eat any meat since becoming pregnant.
Although she didn’t eat a lot of meat before, Khloé K has described being put off completely during pregnancy.
"Before pregnancy I really only ate chicken or turkey… But now I find meat absolutely disgusting, LOL."
She has been enjoying a vegetarian pregnancy diet throughout, though not by choice, and even said that just the sight of meat makes her feel nauseous.
Expecting her baby any day now, Khloé has been thinking about whether her meat aversion will continue after the baby’s arrival.
"I wonder how I'll feel about meat after I give birth!"
Our midwife Amanda says,
"Vegetarian and vegan diets are safe in pregnancy as long as they are varied and include all the food groups. Plan your diet carefully to make sure that you get a good balance, and enough calcium, iron and vitamin B12.
