Fascinating video shows how our bodies change during pregnancy

A new interactive video created by the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago reminds us that ‘The baby isn’t the only one changing.’

Have you ever wondered how your body changes inside to make room for your baby? A new video shows the incredible impact that pregnancy has on the mother’s body.

Created by the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago, the Make Room for Baby video takes us through three trimesters and highlights how our internal organs move throughout a 40 week pregnancy. It shows how our baby and uterus grow each week, with our stomach and intestines moving slightly higher to accommodate baby.

Our midwife Sophie says:

“We love this short video showing how your baby, uterus and body changes in the first, second and third trimester of pregnancy. Midwives will always find pregnancy fascinating, no matter how many bumps we get our hands on, and how many babies we deliver. Our bodies are amazing. And we are still completely in awe of the process!!!”

For more information about the stages of your pregnancy, our pregnancy calendar gives you all the information you need about your body week-by-week.
