Our supporters share their reasons for joining Team Tommy's and the challenges they've taken on to raise money towards research into the causes of baby loss.

  • Francesca Training Run

As long as I'm living, my baby you'll be

We will never know why we lost our first child, but we will honour him. I will be running, not only for Tommy's but in his memory and in his honour.

  • Debbie and Will's memory box for Grace

We will never forget you and you will always be in our thoughts

I’ll never forget seeing our baby on the scan monitor. It no longer looked like our beautiful baby that we saw only a few weeks ago at our 12-week scan. I couldn’t see its little nose, its big belly or tiny foot. I knew something wasn’t right.

  • Noah & his mum in the pool

    Our rainbow baby Noah

Water Babies swimmer Noah was born thanks to the care of the Tommy's Centre for National Miscarriage Research at Birmingham Women's Hospital

  • Gemma and Dave Great North Run Reason for Running

We miss Betsy every single day

Our beautiful baby girl was so perfect, I looked at her little face and waited for her to cry to prove that they were wrong, but she couldn’t.

  • International Midwives' Day 2019

This Sunday, 5 May, is International Day of the Midwife, a day in which we shine the spotlight on some of the special individuals who make up the fabric of Tommy's.

  • Sara Brooke Curtis and her son, Eligh Moon

    Lilia is Listening

Sara Brooke Curtis lost her baby daughter, Lilia, only 3 days after she was born. With 1 in 4 pregnancies in the UK ending in loss during pregnancy or birth, sadly, Sara is not alone.

No one expects this to happen to them

'No one expects this to happen to them and no one can tell you how you’re meant to act. My pregnancy and birthing plan had disappeared over night and I had two sick babies who I was unable to care for. I felt totally alone with my own feelings and felt I had nowhere to turn.'

  • sophie-llhm-tommy's

    Kolby's footprints

'Kolby’s Footprints will forever be helping others who suffer the loss of a baby or supporting where we can with babies that make an early appearance. I will make sure his memory lives on by helping others and leaving his little footprint on many hearts'.

For all the little ones we did not get to meet

'Although personally I found this easier to deal with than the first loss hearing the word miscarriage again brought back a flood of emotions. It was then I realised I needed to confront this, because ignoring and suppressing was never going to send it away.'

  • If love is a measure of a man then Cameron is a giant among men

For such a small person, who only had a place in the world for the nine months he was carried, he has brought so much love and is loved by so many people.
