I have PCOS which means that I have excess body hair and sporadic periods. Until I wanted children that's all PCOS meant for me; embarrassing body hair. I didn't realise until I had a missed miscarriage with my first pregnancy that it was linked with higher miscarriage rates because the hormones were not conducive for pregnancy.
I was devastated and after 6 weeks and 9 friends announcing pregnancies (2 with twins) I was borderline suicidal.
I was helped through it with SANDS charity and had fertility treatment. I had a little girl 5 months later. I had another miscarriage when we tried again after 3 years but fell pregnant again about 3 months later with another little girl.
I'm very glad I don't have to go through it all again.
