In honour of Canadian Infertility Week, wrestler Trish Stratus has opened up about her struggle to fall pregnant with her second baby.

The cruelty of infertility affects families all over the world and from all walks of life. Trish Stratus’ pregnancy cover shoot for Muscle Memory Magazine is a beautiful and bold reminder of this.

Trish is a retired wrestler who spent a lot of time in the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) ring.

She won five championships, sustained a number of injuries (including a bone chip in her ankle!) and was quoted as saying;

‘As far as wrestling goes, as long as my body is able to withstand the physical beating, I will keep wrestling.’

More recently, however, Trish has shown her softer side as she opens up about her journey to having rainbow baby Madi.

In a cover shoot for Muscle Memory Magazine, Trish opened up about her previous struggles with fertility and miscarriage.

‘This cover represents my triumph over my struggle with infertility. After suffering a miscarriage getting a dismal diagnosis about my chances to conceive I embarked on a journey to take control of my fertility.’

While she says knows that not all stories get the same happy ending, Trish has said that she hopes by sharing her story she has helped other couples feel less alone.

‘When I got the call from the publisher of Muscle Memory Mag at 8.5 months pregnant that he wanted to celebrate my pregnant body, I knew I had to do it! I'm so thankful to them for the platform which has now allowed me to open a dialogue about my infertility. As I'm finding, we were not alone in this struggle and it was comforting as I began to speak about it, to discover so many similar stories.’

We think it’s great that Trish has opened up like this and reminded society that not everyone gets an easy road to motherhood.

We love her cover shoot and think Trish’s baby body is just beautiful.

‘To capture this just weeks before delivering means everything. I think the cover shows strength, femininity, and empowerment. I felt at my most beautiful that day and I wanted the photos to shout out to all the mamas-to-be to be belly proud and to be a reminder of the miracle of the woman's body and that it should be honoured and trusted. Everything happens in the right timing - all must be in balance. Keep trying, keep hoping, and keep visualizing with the intent to manifest. As Cinderella's Fairy Godmother said "even miracles take a little time".’

Congratulations Trish, enjoy these early days with your beautiful baby girl!
