Singer songwriter, Sophie Daniels, has officially launched her new album, Liberty’s Mother. The title song ‘I Can Love You from Here’ is a beautiful journey through Sophie’s personal experience of baby loss.

After her daughter Liberty Rose Alagna was stillborn, Sophie wanted to use her musical talent to raise awareness and money for Tommy’s to fund research into preventing miscarriage, stillbirth and premature birth

“The song is me speaking directly to Liberty. It is a song that consider what we can do with the love we have for someone we have lost. A new mother is utterly consumed with love and protection. A new mother who has lost her child has nowhere to direct that love. I wrote this song to direct all of my love to Liberty, every day, wherever she may be.”

“This is a deeply poignant song about loss and facing up to the reality of losing someone dear to you, but ultimately it’s a tribute to enduring pure love, embodied by a parent’s love for their baby. The song is profoundly moving but you are also left with a sense of hope that we can shoulder loss and move forward.”

Sophie’s EP includes three additional tracks exploring different perspectives on the experiences one may encounter after loss. This includes ‘Saving Up For a Rainy Day’ which explores the power of friendship after baby loss and is dedicated to Sophie’s best friend, Sam.

Sophie is hosting an official launch event for the EP during Baby Loss Awareness week. At the event, she will perform the four songs from EP with a live acoustic band.
