£740 would pay for a force transducer for the research team at St Mary's Hospital in Manchester. This intricate piece of equipment will help measure the force across a blood vessel to see how it reacts to different situations.

Charitable trusts and major donors can help to fund the development of our pregnancy information and education programme

Help make a difference to our work by supporting our pregnancy information & education programme. The programme aims to offer parents the best possible information about how they can maximise their chances of having a healthy baby. We produce information for parents-to-be, parents, General Practitioners and Midwives. In addition, we operate a telephone pregnancy information line, staffed by midwives, for the use of pregnant mothers and those close to them.

Examples of support

We received significant funding from a charitable trust to help us in the dissemination of information about toxoplasmosis - an infection which, if caught during pregnancy, can cause damage to the unborn baby, including miscarriage, stillbirth or damage to the brain and other organs. The trust has funded the printing and distribution costs of toxoplasmosis information leaflets and also the development of our web-site so that pregnant women at risk of catching toxoplasmosis can easily access information and support when they need it most. This work would not have been possible without their support.
