Love blogging? Tell it for Tommy’s!
If you’re a blogger, you can do so much to help us support families across the UK to fulfil their dream of parenthood. If you’re happy to lend us your voice, here’s how you can help us spread the word.
… generate conversation: pick an area of Tommy’s website that interests you and start a blog hop, or tie in a blog post about Tommy’s during relevant awareness campaigns. For example ,World Prematurity Day in November or Baby Loss Awareness Week in October. Find out more about national awareness days.
…interview one of our midwives: find out the sort of advice they give and the issues they address.
…pick a challenge to do for Tommy’s and blog about it: inspire others with your fundraising, whether it is a sponsored run/walk/bake-a-thon.
…share and link: if you’ve had a pregnancy complication or experienced any of the issues we deal with in pregnancy, share your story and link to where others can find support with Tommy’s.
…host a guest post: from one of our supporters showing how they have been helped by Tommy’s.
…sign up and spread the word about the #mums4good campaign with Give As You Live:
www.give.as/savingbabieslives - whereby retailers donate a % to Tommy’s when people shop online, at no cost to the shopper. A no-brainer!
…pledge to join the ‘One little thing’ campaign: www.tommys.org/onelittlething and talk about the one little thing you are doing for Tommy’s and encourage others to do the same.
…highlight the companies we work with and how you can help them support us: Asda, Brantano, Build-a-Bear Workshop and Peppa Pig are just some of the companies we work with (more info available on request!)
…promote the Tommy’s Baby-friendly Awards: encourage people to nominate someone who helped them through a pregnancy loss or complication for one of our special individual awards. Find out more about the awards.
… signpost your blog to our followers on Twitter and Facebook.
… promote your blog (when we can) in our print and e-newsletters (which go to over 65,000 people in our database) as a thank you.
… give you friendly support for any awareness-raising/ fundraising on your blog. We can offer materials, ideas and items for fundraising activities, and any info/stats/video content you may need.
… help to get your story/blog posts published elsewhere, as we’ve done in the past with the Independent website, for example.
… send you an ‘I tell if for Tommy’s’ badge for you to embed on your site, which will link back to www.tommys.org. Choose the shape that best suits your blog!
