Give babies a helping hand

Logo

Around 50,000 babies are born too soon in the UK each year, putting them at risk of serious long term medical problems, such as cerebral palsy, blindness, deafness or lung disease.  Affecting over 100,000 families each year, Tommy's is dedicated to reducing the number of people affected by pregnancy complications.

Jump, the savings fund for children, is also supporting the Give Babies a Helping Hand campaign.

From March to May, Jump will donate £5 to us for every saving scheme opened during this period and is hoping to raise at least £20,000 for us. James Budden, Jump's Marketing Director, said: ‘Jump offers parents a way to give their baby the very best financial start in life. Although some babies are born healthy, others suffer complications from being born too small. These can range from learning difficulties to blindness and cerebral palsy. We're backing this campaign because we want every parent to  experience the joy of a safe pregnancy and, following that, the healthy birth of their baby.' Cytyc UK Ltd. are also proudly supporting our Give babies a helping hand campaign with a £5000 donation to Tommy's.

Cytyc UK Ltd. produce FullTermTM, The Fetal Fibronectin Test. This measures the amount of fetal fibronectin present in your vagina during pregnancy. It acts like a "glue" to hold the membranes around the baby to your uterus. By using this test, your doctor can determine the likelihood of delivery based on the  levels of this ‘'glue'' in your vagina between 22 to 35 weeks gestation and helps to identify the best way to manage your pregnancy.  For further information about the test please visit www.fullterm.net
