Update 14th April.
Well, I did it! My final time was 4hrs 4mins, which I'm really pleased with for my first marathon. It would have been quicker but unfortunately after about 20 miles my legs cramped up which made the last hour a bit slower and much more painful! But I managed to run through the pain and even raise a smile for all the fantastic crowds cheering the runners on.
Including the money pledged off line, the total I will have raised is now up to £2000, which I'm really really pleased with, if you're reading this though and haven't sponsored me yet then please do so; every penny raised is a help to Tommy's with continuing their good work.
thanks for reading,
Rob.
Thanks for visiting my fundraising page. On 13th April 2008 I'll be running the London Marathon to raise money for Tommy's, the Baby Charity. For those who don't know, Tommy's are a charity that do a lot of research into stillbirth, miscarriage and premature births which is a cause close to my and Linz's hearts. If you'd like to find out more then this website has lots more info about the good work that they do.
My targets to raise £1500, so any money you can sponsor me for putting myself through 26 miles of pain (not to mention all the training miles over the next few months!) is much appreciated !!
Donating through this site is really simple, fast and totally secure and it's also the most efficient way to sponsor me as Tommy's will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you. (Though if you'd prefer to donate by cheque or cash, then that's no problem as I've got old-fashioned sponsorship forms too! :) )
Please help and sponsor me now!
Many thanks for your support.
cheers, Rob
